Blazers burn Tigers
Former DOMLEC Premier League basketball champions, Gatorade Blazers, were a bit challenged in burning Canefield Tigers when the LIME National Basketball League resumed.
Blazers won that contest by 76 points to 64 at Lindo Park. Felix Thomas got 26 points for the victors with Javeed Joseph adding 19 and Lester Langlais 11. Tony Lee got 17, Ian Brumant 14 and Sylvere Joseph 10 for Tigers.
D-Treads No Look had mixed fortunes. No Look lost to Dr Mac Prowlers 59 to 45, but came back to edge out Wesley Raptors 70-66.
For No Look, Donnie Robinson got 17 &15, Garth Joseph of NBA fame 17& 13 and Fletcher Leblanc 13. For Prowlers, Julien Isles 15, Ronnie Bruno 13 and Craig St Rose 10; and for Raptors, Curtis Akel 15, Tim Telemacque 12 and Dwight Bedminster 10.
Dr Mac Prowlers prevailed by three points over Paix Bouche Eagles, 71-68. For Prowlers, St Rose got 23, Isles 13 and Joel McIntyre 10, and for Eagles, Lenin Paul 15, Hendricks Holsborough 13 and Andel George 12. In other DOMLEC league matches, defending champions, Signman X-Men 83 Tigers 48; Paix Bouche Eagles 72 United Insurance Sharks 59.
Division II
Action in the Vitamalt Division II League had Mahaut Gators defeating Police Sports Club 63-53. Esmond Andrew had a whopping 43 for Gators, while for Police Lenny Dangleben got 15, Caleb Challenger 10 and Garvin James 9. Elvis Mordancies Green Hornets were two wins from two matches at the expense of St Joseph Hurricanes 78-54 and police 58-53. For Hornets, Jaqueve Colaire got 19, Errol Blaize 17 & 14, Dwayne Registe 12 & 11 and Edgar George 12; and for Hurricanes, Keston Williams 27 and Jerry Wright 12. For Police, Dangleben scored 13 and Gary Benjamin 10.
National Secondary Schools mauled Trafalgar Rangers 89-40. For the schools, Yannick Registe led with 34; Joshua Henderson added 18 and Jaqueve Colaire 14. Ronald Charles got 9 for Rangers.
In a Pizza Hut Division I match, Fashionline Falcons soared over Kairi Ole Skool 98-81.
