New Zealand Beat West Indies in Third Test

New Zealand defeated West Indies today to win their first series away from home against an ICC top- eight nation. They won the series 2-1.

West Indies top batsmen struggled throughout the final day of the Third Test at the Kensington Oval in Barbados.

Only Shane Shillingford and Jason Holder shared a 77-run eight wicket partnership to give West Indies hope of saving the match but when Holder fell for 52, the only half-century of the West Indies second innings, only rain, which threatened throughout the final day, could save West Indies from defeat. But the rain did not bother.

Shillingford ended with 30 not out.

Earlier New Zealand had declared overnight with a lead of 307.
