The Gardens Of Andromeda
First comes breath
then the rapid onset of life......
Then my opened eyes behold the sparkling twinkle of the lofty stars pinioned against the starry heavens....
The chilled mountain's breeze, sucking the sticky tropical heat from dangerous volcanic vents, rushes down the tangled valley, scattering the pollen's of an ancient time upon the shorelines of a newborn land baking in the searing heat of the eternal cosmic womb And i, then free from lonesome distractions, made steady upon my perch, commit myself
to silence and breathe slowly, once in and once out.......
Deep in meditative silence, standing on the vantage point from where my life has placed its footing, holding steadfast to the ancient scriptures with a quiet heartbeat,
I behold the mantra of creation encircling the earth.......
Generating a smoldering liquid heat, melting life into goodness
Showering the sheep with verdant grass.......
Smelting milk into cheese, grass into butter, sunlight into ghee-offering nuts, seeds, fruit
and barley to mankind-generating fragrant bread.......
With noble tenderness, my grateful heart sipped deeply of this ancient brew
But do i really deserve this......
And can i seal the pact?
Will my forefathers hear me out?
Will my judgement be transmitted?
Throughout the generations will the judges declare me as one free from guilt?
I think intensely: my passion grows hot with Are: i stand and i think again: when i was
born, when i was young, little, just a mere child, the continents were already
adrift -- the shoreline was different, so very, very different
So what really happened and where are we now
Have we touched the shore
Can we claim it all......
Is there a victory in sight?
The petrels lonely cry across the vast expanse of ruby sky, greets my soulful quest with
dire amusement
The sea smiles shyly and yields a nodded cypher to my quest, then points its ancient
Anger at my breast.....Thou son.....Thou son Thou son......I bow my head
My heart trembles......My speech fails......My Angers trail deeply into the sands of time
My tongue is lost in sorrow......my mouth goes dry
Oh earth have mercy on your little children......Let your parrots have one day more in
the sun let the little titiwi know the coolness of the mountain streams.......The time
for growth, the time for fun, the time for basking in the sun....The time of urgency
The crossing of waterfalls, rapids, whirlpools and the dangers that ever lay in wait........
I stand upright, my stance strong, my eyes Arm
the fragrant daffodils, glowing in the sun, knowing the primordial urgency of time, quickly
offer their incense to the very edge of space,
then speedily flower and wither their colorful lives back into the dusty ground
From which they sprang.......
Deep within the lava tubules of this ancient pinnacle, this active peak of which i am a birth, the primordial waters ooze Forth as cooling sustenance to man....
Oh life! In this flowering cycle of eternities
the sweetness of dreams unfolding sucks a man into the passionate embrace of power
binds his arms so fettered to the dimpled embrace of wily women --
plucks the salt from the ocean -
strips the leaves from the trees -
dries up the rivers of the nation
leaves the parrots stranded on the mountain -
tosses the crying winds into the rumbling sea.......
Then, with great cruelty it is said to be all over......
His allotted time is done, the pundits say: his chain ran out, the engine failed........
His block broke - the golden casket cracked.......
And as a candle winks out in the oily blackness of the cosmic night
so by being unprepared, for such a man, the tear of time unzipped runs savagely amok
....a scream in the night -- a terrified shudder, a moan
....a brief moment of silence, one silent drop of moisture, and another dream is
quenched......
Oh followers of the divine truth
the ancient ones commanded unto your generations: live thou a pure life in austerity
the noble sage vyaasa said: that which does not belong to you - is not yours
therefore,
be
unbound
clean
and
unfettered............
With respect for the ocean
holding on to nothing
gazing nightly at the sky
beholding the gardens of Andromeda.
And it should rightly be so.
Jai guru deva
