Tony Astaphan represents WICB
Rodney Bay, St. Lucia - The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) is hosting its regular quarterly meeting with its Directors (today and tomorrow) and they have acquired the services of noted counsel, Anthony Waddy Astaphan SC as an advisor to look at the recommendations for the CARICOM final report on governance of cricket, the WICB said in a press release.
Astaphan made a presentation to the board of directors in the morning session. A full paper will be prepared and will be available for presentation to the Prime Ministers' committee. The way forward Astaphan says "will look at how both organizations can work together for the benefit of the improvement of cricket on and off and the field."
Astaphan is an experienced senior counsel and has served as a former president of the Bar Association of Dominica, the release said.
CARICOM heads of Government has demanded the immediate resignation of the WICB based on recommendations of a committee that examined the structure and leadership of the WICB.
