Two benefitted from Republic Bank (EC) Limited Scholarships
Republic Bank (EC) Limited (RBEC), Dominica has again this year awarded two scholarships for secondary school education to Ammiel LeBlanc and Kailey Pacquette.
Ammiel, a former student of the Ebeneza Seventh Day Adventist Primary School will begin her high school journey at the Dominica Grammar School in September 2021. The proud mom, Julia LeBlanc, who accompanied her daughter at the award ceremony, says that she is confident that Ammiel will perform since she has always been a diligent student and has maintained excellent averages throughout her primary school years. Ammiel was also the former Vice Head Girl of the Ebeneza Seventh Day Adventist Primary School. Julia LeBlanc has been a customer of the Bank since January 1989.
Kailey, a former student of the Convent Preparatory School will attend the St. Martin's Secondary School in September 2021. Kailey, who lives with her mom Elva Augustine in Salisbury, is excited about her new journey. She has been a customer of the bank since she was a toddler and was able to put in her own application for a Scholarship. Although very shy, and through tears, she was able to express her own personal gratitude to Republic Bank for awarding her a scholarship to attend Secondary School.
Through Republic Bank (EC) Limited programme, Power to Make a Difference, the Bank continues to show its commitment to assist young people through education, health, sports, youth development, innovative entrepreneurship/business and culture/community development.
Country Manager, Gina Severin, reflects appropriately, that RBEC's sense of community spirit remains robust and assured. This is reflected in our various initiatives and activities which fall within our continuing practical corporate social responsibility. She urges that education, especially its foundation skills of reading, writing and arithmetic – literacy and numeracy in summary – can make a huge difference to a country's development. Hence, the RBEC's enthusiasm and commitment to this scholarship programme.
