West Indies goes into third and final Test
CAPE TOWN, South Africa – Clive Lloyd, West Indies Chairman of Selectors, is pleased with the team's showing as they earned a draw in the second Test match against South, which ended earlier this week.
The former West Indies captain was full of praise for young opener Kraigg Brathwaite, who made 106 – his third Test century in six matches – to earn the Man-of-the-Match award.
Lloyd also lauded experienced batsman Marlon Samuels – who made 101 – to follow-up the two centuries he made in One-Day Internationals in India in October.
Lloyd said the Windies need to build on the strong performances in the second match as they look ahead to the third Test, the three T20 Internationals and the five-match ODI Series.
West Indies will have a full training session on Thursday morning at Newlands in Cape Town as they prepare for the third and final Test match. First ball on Friday is 10:30 am (4:30 am Eastern Caribbean Time/3:30 am Jamaica Time).
