Windies wipe out Pakistan
Win sets up exciting series finale at the Windsor Park
Bowling hero Shannon Gabriel and captain Jason Holder ripped through Pakistan's batting to give West Indies a 106-run victory in the second Test of the Brighto Paints presents the Q Mobile Cup Series in Bridgetown Barbados earlier today.
The win sets up an exciting series finale when the two teams meet at the Windsor Park here in Dominica starting on May 10. The series is now tied 1-1.
Gabriel grabbed 5-11 from 11 overs, Holder supported with 3-23 from 11.4 overs and fellow fast bowler Alzarri Joseph scalped 2-42 from 12 overs, as the Pakistanis, chasing 188 for victory, were dismissed for 81 in their second innings about 40 minutes before tea on the final day of the contest at Kensington Oval.
It was the second time Gabriel collected five wickets in an innings in Tests and he ended with match figures of 9-92 to earn the Player-of-the-Match award, as the visitors' final total equalled the lowest in a Test at this venue which had been solely held by their fierce Asian rivals, India.
Earlier, West Indies, starting the day on 264 for nine in their second innings, lost their final wicket after five balls and were bowled out for 268 with Pakistan leg-spinner Yasir Shah finishing with 7-94 from 39.5 overs.
